Ship of Harkinian is incredible, full on “however you want the controls to be” controls. It’s by far the best way to play OOT! I used a Dualsense with gyro and my right thumb stick is used to look around like a modern game.

I mean, an m4 air with 16GB RAM and a 256SSD destroys almost any windows laptop at 600USD, and that’s how much they’ve been going for. Any lower than that, even with 8GB RAM and that’s an extremely good deal.

I got a 16GB RAM M4 MacBook Air for 600USD so it better be cheaper than that if it comes with 8GB…

I was restricted to my MacBook Air when I was in hospital, and that has the same specs as a 500USD Mac mini (m4, 16GB RAM). It plays 3D stuff like Valheim at 60FPS! The only issue is the more limited library compared to my Linux and Windows machines.

I have a pile of shiny things I’ve found on walks! There’s a ton of random metal bits, coins from all over, a motorcycle key, a couple tools, and some various shapes uwu

They’re not useless if they make me happy to have, I suppose!

New York Crimes

Windows 11 will never touch my home machines, but I still need to use Windows for a couple things. I’m so happy there’s Windows 10 LTSC ioT.

I installed the latest version of Pop and was shocked when like a third of the shit I wanted to find was missing. The settings page is barren. Zero VNC support out of the box, and most VNC software doesn’t even WORK! The shop is much better and faster than Pop shop… when it isn’t freezing all the time.

Reverted back to 22.x before cosmic and all the stuff I need is back, VNC is built-in, and the slower Pop Shop never freezes. Nothing freezes, it’s perfectly stable.

Cosmic looks nice but damn, the latest version of Pop is NOT there yet.

I didn’t do any disconnecting or reconnecting of any drives, just installed Pop on SSD0, Windows on SSD1, and set up three partitions on HDD: one formatted for Linux, one for Windows, and one meant for them to share if I ever need that. Using W10 LTSC IoT tho, so maybe that’s why it behaves better?

Ehhh I took a recreational dose of oxy and it felt sorta cool, but mostly weird and extremely itchy. I tried once more dialing down the dose, but that, too wasn’t super exciting. Not the chem for me, but it was interesting trying it. I didn’t get euphoric or ill, it just felt… different. Maybe if I had never rolled my tits off on X, I’d have considered it euphoria, but naaaaah.

(I attempted to dose recreationally at home, once I wasn’t in any pain.)

Ahh mine was every couple hours. I’m not sure the dosage but it was two tubes most times. They gave me one tube occasionally and then asked a bit later if I wanted the other. I think I only declined once, it hurt quiiiite a lot. There weren’t any times where it wore off before I could have another, so that’s nice! Also the hospital my partner drove me to, I got fucking LUCKY. They got my vitals immediately when I got there, I was in a room within 10 minutes, a CT scan in maybe a half hour, and the were like “yeah you’re gonna have to stay for… some time. We’ll get you a room upstairs as soon as we can, but that’s gonna be the tricky part.”

My partner and I start watching stuff together on my phone while we wait (thank you headphone audio mirroring!) and we get a HALF HOUR IN and they’re like “corner room opened, we’re gonna get you in there NOW before anything happens to it”

Big ol giant room for us both to be in, nice tables I can move around without getting up. Bathe room mega close, and almost every time I paged a nurse for pain meds they were there INSTANTLY. It was honestly the best hospital experience I could have hoped for. After a few days on Dilaudid they asked if I wanted to switch to oral oxy when I could eat more, and that lasted much longer (but the whole IV thing was so neat… I’ve done almost every drug but never touched opiates and I refuse to touch needles, so that was prolly (hopefully) a once in a lifetime experience for me)

By the time I got home, I didn’t even need the extra Oxys they gave me, but I had a lil fun with them after as a reward for my experience. I’ll for sure go to that hospital if I ever need to again.

It was the late 2010s, yerp. The same time they started inflating vote totals and removed the ability to see upvote and downvote counts separately. Maybe even before 2017… it’s been quite a while now.

I just did a fresh install of 10 alongside Pop on one of my machines and 10 was perfectly usable immediately after initial installation. As it updated, I used ninite, installed GPU drivers, and ran OOSU10 for the first time (again after updates.)

Windows sucks now but it’s anything but unusable after install. And it’s not because my machine is poweful—the processor and mobo are 13+ years old and it’s got DDR3.
