The chances of being in that situation are rather slim, however there’s another activity for which you can dramatically clear out a desk in one big sweep that is more probable, you do need a consenting partner though.

I totally get that, but we are married with a child and living very far away from any traditional support system (in a different country than either of our families). It’s certainly tough, especially missing out on the free child care that everyone around us seems to be enjoying, but honestly it’s not that bad, and even has some of its own benefits.

3·2 days agoI see that sentiment on every battery news, but it sure seems to me like battery tech is advancing quite drastically. Are there over-hyped headlines and articles pumping up tech that isn’t anywhere near completion? Sure, but meanwhile EVs have become a thing, house batteries, etc.

4·7 days agoHonestly a bunch of people are just totally removed from the news cycle and just have no fucking clue, or even if they do, they just think of it like it’s fiction, it would only happen to “other people™”.
Yeah that’s where my head went at lol, we get “fancy wood” scent.
SSD prices really pisses me off. I use those for work as an independent and regularly need new ones, and the ones I usually get have gone up like crazy!
I need the other stuff for work too but for now my rig is chugging along so I’m not feeling that yet.

Wow! I really thought this was a bog roll behind her, in combination with the window placement and general decor. But makes sense when seeing the rest!
That girl looks like she’s on the toilet, btw.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can people irl be as mean as some people online?
1·12 days agoI just meant, they are exactly as mean online as they are in real life, it’s not that they’re particularly mean just direct and no filter so less of a difference.

When you have to post a minimum of 5x per day to fit in/keep engagement numbers up/boost your ego, any little thing happening (or not) in your life becomes a potential post.
I like to imagine that Americans from the random states in the middle with perfectly rectangular shapes do the same thing, but since it’s just rectangles, no one realises it.
