Thank you so much for details!! Your process makes perfect sense. I’m definitely to save some money and get a simpler model.

Does your grill have a fire access door?
I’ve had my Baratza Virtuoso since 2014-ish and was able to replace the burrs last year. Recommended.
Maybe that’s the right wing halftime show?
Thanks for the detail - our single basin sink came with one of these and we never used it.
What character is holding him hostage?

Wood putty won’t add any strength. The crack and piece are large enough where seasonal variation would likely cause the putty to separate from the wood anyway.

I would leave it alone. Given the age of the wood it will likely not crack any further. It has already dried as much as it can.
Ditto. I think that most people aren’t able to keep their knives sharp enough for this task so they use the razor blade.
Check your library system, that’s where I read it.
For sure, clamps are important! There’s a gap between the top of the cabinet and the underside of the bench.

I will admit though that’s it’s sometimes necessary to position the clamp with the bar extending below the surface - in that case not having drawers would be best 👍
I think it should be renamed “red-capped woodpecker”.
That photo captured one with a very red belly!! The ones in our backyard have just a blush of orange.
I use an inshave (aka scorp), compass plane, curved scrapers, and sandpaper for my seats. It’s laborious! Just started on another tonight and of course it has a few stubborn spots.
Good question about the bench. It’s a 5" pine top but it dried funny, curving inward at the top. So I inlaid a maple strip to get the front back to square.

Hah I bet we have the same fish spatula!

Go with a carbon steel pan over cast iron. Similar performance but without the weight.
👍 We keep at big spreadsheet of regularly used products, comparing per-unit costs across our stores we frequent. Costco only wins on a few select items.
Just got a new set of tires for the van which seemed to be a better value, given the “free” installation.

We use the Clever Brewer and love it. I’ve done French Press and pour over before and much prefer the Clever’s coffee. It’s the best of both worlds - an immersion brewer with a paper filter.
I got tired of cleaning it. Most of the time the seasoned carbon steel just needs a wipe.
Another question for ya - I can get a 30" version at Menard’s for the same price as the 22". If I was doing a small grill session (say 6 burgers) would the extra interior space detract from the grilling?
