Inspiration SHEVAARA was inspired by real conversations with hostel girls who shared their daily fears, hesitation to report incidents, and lack of trusted emergency support. We realized that generic safety apps do not understand campus environments or privacy concerns. SHEVAARA was born to create a safety system that is built around their reality, not assumptions.

What it does

SHEVAARA is a campus-focused safety and wellness platform for hostel girls. It provides campus-specific safety maps, anonymous reporting, AI-based support, and integrated emergency and health assistance. The platform works in collaboration with hostels and colleges to ensure faster, structured, and privacy-first safety response.

How we built it

We started with user research and feedback from hostel girls to understand real problems. Based on this, we designed a campus-customized B2B platform with a scalable architecture. The solution was planned to work both online and offline, with a future roadmap that includes affordable personal safety hardware and a mobile application. Challenges we ran into One major challenge was addressing the fear of reporting while maintaining privacy and trust. Designing a solution that works across different campus environments was also difficult. Balancing affordability with meaningful safety features required careful planning and prioritization. Accomplishments that we're proud of We successfully validated the problem through real user feedback and designed a unique campus-first safety approach. Creating an integrated safety and health concept with anonymous support is a key achievement. We also built a clear roadmap for scaling from B2B campuses to B2C personal safety solutions.

What we learned

We learned that safety solutions must be context-aware and trust-driven. Privacy is as important as emergency response. Most importantly, listening to users early helps build solutions that truly matter and are more likely to be adopted.

What's next for SHEVAARA

Next, we plan to launch pilot programs in hostels and colleges, followed by a mobile app and affordable safety hardware. Our long-term vision is to expand across multiple cities, partner with NGOs and government bodies, and build a nationwide campus safety ecosystem for girls.
