Inspiration
The inspiration behind Save & Go stemmed from the desire to simplify and enhance the travel experience for individuals seeking affordable flight and hotel accommodations. We recognized the need for a comprehensive solution that not only offered cost-effective options but also fostered a sense of community and shared knowledge among travelers.
What it does
Save & Go is a versatile travel application that combines the power of finding the most affordable flight and hotel options with a vibrant community-driven platform. The app empowers users to search for the best deals on flights and accommodations, ensuring they make informed decisions while staying within their budget.
In addition, the app features a community forum where travelers can ask questions, seek recommendations, and share their own experiences. This interactive platform allows users to connect with fellow travelers, exchange valuable insights, and benefit from the collective wisdom of the community.
How we built it
The development of Save & Go was through React, CSS and API. The API was used to extract data from real time flights. REACT and CSS was used to bring a functional and visual aspect of Save & Go.
Challenges we ran into
Building Save & Go came with its fair share of challenges. One of the primary hurdles was integrating the API since we are still very new to React and its functionalities.
Creating an engaging and interactive community forum was another challenge we encountered because we had to find a way to save the data regardless if the pages change.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning React was one of the new things we tried out for this hackathon and we are really proud that we were able to learn it well! Other than that, we are really satisfied by our app design and it's purpose.
What's next for Save & Go
The journey for Save & Go does not end here. We have exciting plans for the future, including expanding on our database and authentication goals. Our goal is to continually innovate and improve Save & Go, providing travelers worldwide with an indispensable tool that combines affordability, convenience, and community engagement. We are committed to empowering individuals to explore the world on their terms while making lasting connections along the way.
