What it does

Making a daily schedule can be troublesome. You have to know when you want to do what, how much of it to do, and most importantly make sure that you follow through with that schedule. Day is a web app that simplifies all that for you. You tell it what you want to do, and poof! You have a schedule and are ready to start your day.

How we built it

CoffeeScript. Lots of CoffeeScript. We used Firebase as a backend because we were too lazy to make our own backend. This means that our app is entirely front-end.

Challenges we ran into

Around six hours in, we got stuck when we tried to get the schedule-inator to generate a random time that was not yet taken by another task. It caused lots of frustration but after some (read: a lot) of help from mentors, we finally got it working

What's next for Day

So many things! First of all, we hope to make Android and iOS apps for Day. Additionally, we hope to have it sync with Google Calendar so that your Day schedule can work well with other pre-set events. We also plan to expand on the accountability functionality of the app. At the moment it's just a simple chat box, but we hope to expand it into things like daily logs, FB/Twitter shares, etc. There are so many more things that Day will (hopefully) be!
