Or does the public deserve to know about their behavior? Do note that nodebb is a forum platform, not a CMS. I've seen some awful attempts at trying to shovel a CMS into a forum platform in my time. SMF springs to mind.

If package.json recommends a version of a bundled plugin, stick to that version. In your case, stick with v1.0.9.
