Founded in 1867, Chirk Cricket Club is a community based cricket club which is a friendly and inclusive club based on the border of North Wales close to St Martins.

The Club has achieved ClubMark Accreditation through demonstrating that our club is able to develop and deliver high quality community cricket in a safe, effective and child-friendly way. We are extremely proud of our excellent junior section and the pathway into adult cricket that is provided by ourselves.

Teams

Our 1st XI play in Division One of the Shropshire County Cricket League. This is the second highest division within the Shropshire league setup and one that we are proud to have finishes of 2nd, 5th, 5th and 6th within our last four years in the division.

Our 2nd XI plays in Shropshire County Cricket League Div 7 and provides a brilliant pathway for junior players starting out in adult cricket.

All our teams are full of home grown talent. The club’s home grown talent has been an important figure of our recent success and our community focused ethos which makes good use of dedicated volunteers to help ensure the structure is in place to facilitate success on field.

Playing Facilities

The Club plays at the Chirk AAA Sports and Social Club. Our facilities include a 10 pitch square, alongside an artificial wicket and numerous practice pitches, an LED scoreboard and two artificial nets which provide our juniors and adults a chance to practice whenever suitable.

The Club hosts around 30 senior matches each season which also involves hundreds of visiting players as well as club members. The club’s facilities are at an excellent standard and we always try our best to support county and regional level youth matches for North Wales when our facilities are needed.

From Under 9's to seniors, there is a full fixture list of competitive league and cup matches to suit numerous levels of ability. We are proud to be able to have an amazing core of volunteers and playing members which gives us the opportunity to achieve success year on year.
