Labor@lemmy.ml•We now have a general Labor focused community. Please feel free to contribute.
·7 months agoPeople can post non us related articles if they want. In fact I'd encourage people to do that.
I just created this community to quarantine stuff that people wanted to post to the union community that wasn't specifically related to unions.
Which the union community has quite active international union focus thanks to some dedicated contributors. I imagined labor should/would be the same way.

politics•I found the Youtube channel of the OTHER Persian weirdo from the Jubilee debate
·7 months agoOn his Facebook page you can see him posting stuff a few years ago in favor of public transit and in 2019 he attended a may day protest and a pro immigration protest. I think this dude is just a disingenuous clout chaser.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does Santa exist in an alternate universe somewhere?
·10 months agoWhat do you think "parallel universe theory" is?
"many worlds hypothesis" in quantum physics is nothing like Sci fi "parallel universe" stuff. Sci fi is fiction. Don't get your understanding of science from Sci fi.

technology•Is there an equivalent to /r/ExperiencedDevs on Fediverse?
·10 months agoI mean I def agree with you about SAFe being garbage. And a lot of what you say I agree with or am open to.
But if you're not against tracking tasks or governance what do you think the solution is?
I def agree that the incentives of enterprise is a big part of the issue.
As a designer I've found it hard to work with some devs because they don't believe my work is real, or worth tracking in the same systems they track their work in. They'd prefer me to kind of hang on the outside and make pretty graphics at the whim of them and the product manager (they usually think of the design process as a coat of paint applied after the real work has been done, so that it can look attractive to stakeholders up stream. But in fact design is not primarily about aesthetics or "look and feel")

technology•Is there an equivalent to /r/ExperiencedDevs on Fediverse?
·10 months agoAnd how do you expect to build a design system without some kind of task tracking or governance process?
Certainly it's an issue how product people get to control these mm processes but that's an implementation thing.

·10 months agoHonestly you sound kind of toxic to work with. I agree with some of what you've said but there's like zero capacity for self criticism displayed here.
Where do you see designers playing a role in all this, for instance?
That's just how substack work. If you go to a substack it gives a pop up to try and get you to subscribe to the substack.
Aoc doesn't really build off dsa anymore to be fair. Dsa can't even run it's own budget right. They provided a little extra volunteer power for bernie campaign got a huge influx of people and have been in decline since he dropped out of running for Prez. Dsa is a dead end.
Greens are a waste of time though yes.

news•The U.S. Industrial Base Is Not Prepared for a Possible Conflict with China
·2 years agoThe only assertion I made was that there had been reporting of decoupling. I did not assert there had been decoupling. If you can't understand the difference between those two then I really can't help you. At worst I spoke sloppy to a pendant.

I didn't lie. You're just an idiot.

news•The U.S. Industrial Base Is Not Prepared for a Possible Conflict with China
·2 years agoNo moron, you think you're in a debate because youre a keyboard warrior going aggro at the slightest interrupt of your circle jerk.
The only "assertion" I've made is that there has been reporting that there is decoupling between China and the US economies. And this is true! There is reporting! I'm not even claiming the reporting is correct, I've only requested alternative perspectives with evidence! That is all.
I have been very clear and up front from the beginning. You however are a dog chasing parked cars.
The issue is not a misunderstanding. It's you being an idiot.
I have not taken a stance anywhere in this thread about whether or not China and the US are decoupling. If this was otherwise you could prove it with a quote. But you can't. Because you're trying to fight someone who isn't interested in a debate. Idiot.

What are you going to do?
