git forge in unix home dirs

Description
Right now forgejo expects a specific directory layout that doesn't work with our "unix timeshare" model.
Would be cool for it to search in home directory under a subdir, maybe /home/m/code or something like that? /home/m/public_git? to map public_html?
Then people could just mess with facls to add perms. Or forgejo could do that but I doubt it does that right now.
