visually confirmed that the P-trap (everythingremindsmeofher) under the kitchen sink had a hole in the side due to corrosive element's over time.
replaced damaged component and tested for leaks before determining that the issue was resolved.
Recommendations:
avoid pouring corrosive liquids or solvents down the kitchen sink. if issue persists; replace drain spout and full p-trap(emmoh) assembly with compatible PVC parts and wait for the poppers to kick in.
