The website going down seems to be due to load (though CPU and RAM levels are fine so not sure what’s going on), I’ve updated to 0.18.3 and will keep monitoring the site
Yeh it is a single admin instance, I’m going to look to add a few more admins this week as we really should have more than one
Sorry I’ve been really busy the last few weeks you should be verified now lmk if you’re not

Feddit UK@feddit.uk•Support Feedit.UK - Buy a Coffee for TomEnglish
1·3 years agoHey, appreciate the reminder but the donation is on the sidebar on the instance and the link in the description doesn’t work (its url is to the post itself). We’ve been getting a steady of donations for the server so gonna remove this for now (I agree with other posters, that link could be anything)

Ask UK@feddit.uk•Coffee drinkers - who's your go-to UK based coffee roasters?English
2·3 years agoI’m using coffee link at the moment, it’s really good for the price nothing to special in terms of quality though. I usually order two 500g bags for around 22 quid which lasts a good month
I ordered an anaerobic coffee there the other day though and it was not great, not a fan of that type of coffee. Don’t know if it was just that particular bag but the smell of the anaerobic coffee is not the one (the taste was actually fine)
Yeh fixed and fixed the issue where updating broke it so that shouldn’t happen anymore

Feddit UK@feddit.uk•Email verification issue? READ HEREEnglish
4·3 years agoHaha yeh i did there was around 3k bots accounts which I found and purged hadn’t liked or subscribed to any communities and their email was a distinct pattern
Yeh just fixed it, I need to find a better way of updating the wefwef site as atm, every update to the instance will break the wefwef site lol. Problem for another day
Not much to be honest, it helps take the load of wefwef’s own site and this instance should be quicker as well.
Also an advantage for me is that I added a feature in wefwef so I can approve or deny registration applications but the code hasn’t been approved in the main app yet so I wanted to deploy my own version with that in it!

Ask UK@feddit.uk•Has anyone ever had a good experience with a Solcitior?
4·3 years agoI’m in the process of buying a flat at the moment and the solicitors are taking their time, I can’t tell if that is just how it is or if it’s their fault to be honest. The updates we get from them sounds like they are following up enquiries from the seller’s solicitors but who knows. We were hoping to complete soon but looks like it might be another month or two before that happens.
I think for some solicitors, conveyancer is low priority as there isn’t much money involved and there is no pressure to get it done quickly, which is why it can drag on.

Feddit UK@feddit.uk•It appears that Feddit.uk blocks me when I try to access it via VPN. Do we really want to do that?English
11·3 years agoIt’s working with my nord VPN I haven’t blocked anything around VPNs so not sure what’s going on here
Would you mind sharing a screenshot and possibly a console log of the issue if you can?

Feddit UK@feddit.uk•Feddit UK slow or broken at updating "hot" or "active"English
1·3 years agoHmm it might be an issue with the communities then or the way they are stored in our database. I’ll have a look and some test accounts, subscribe to those communities and see if I get the issue as well

5·3 years agoLol I love this, until we get a banner which is more “maximalist” which encompasses all aspects of the UK, gonna use this one for the banner!

2·3 years agoHey, that is very weird and one I can’t reproduce myself unfortunately.
I think all I can do atm is wait for the full 0.18.1 release and hope that fixes it otherwise will need to dig into it further
