As far as I’ve been taught, a weed is just a plant growing in an undesirable location. If you had a tomato plant growing in your garden of orchids, that tomato plant could be considered a weed.
Yeah, “weeds” are contextual to what and where the plant is. Of course it’s a made up concept, it’s not a classification of a type of plant, just a description of a plant you don’t want in a certain spot.
Yeah, I think people forget that the definition of a weed is simply “A plant that is unwanted.” Himalayan blackberry in the PNW is often a weed and it grows aggressively in a lot of backyards here, but lots of people keep it around because… blackberries.
Just tried smoking a CBD joint, again. God, it’s awful. Clear and direct legalization of THC containing cannabis is a must, otherwise all that Delta8/HHC/whatever chemically treated bud you can think of will be a major health issue everywhere.
That’s how I do it. I’ve got a wide variety of plants which leads to a wider variety of bugs and even rabbits for a few years, but they were killed or run off by a cat.
Are there any benefits to thistles or sand spurs???
There’s a garden in Göttingen Germany specialising in endangered “weeds” because many of them have been eradicated to extinction.
