I’m a software engineer with over a decade of building software that solves problems. I’ve decided to channel that knowledge into making games. Looking back to my childhood, making games was the reason I wanted to be a programmer in the first place.
It was one of the few things I was obsessed with. I remember a time where I would wake up in the morning at 5:30 AM, the moment my mom left for work, to sneak onto the computer to play with the Warcraft 3 game engine before I had to go to school. Normally, I would procrastinate to get out of bed until the last possible moment, but not for this.
There are more examples of things like that scattered throughout my childhood, but I forgot about it because I was trying to make it in life. Get a career as a software developer because that is where the money was. But now that I've done it for a while, I'm rediscovering what got me into it to begin with.
