Wireless is not get activated

What instructions did you follow ?

Could you share with us the result of:
lspci

If you have access to a wired network connection, please use that and make sure you have applied all system updates.

  Do not forget your wireless key when trying to log in.

Hi,

Please first connect your network card to the wireless router using an ethernet cable (also known as a LAN cable).

In order to gather essential troubleshooting information about your wireless card, please follow this procedure:

Step 1: Open Terminal from "Applications->Accessories->Terminal"

Step 2: Please copy-paste the following command from the https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu website in Firefox into the Linux Terminal. Do NOT copy-paste from the Email message into the Terminal, as that will only copy PART of the command. The command STARTS with the word sudo and ENDS with the word restart. So please copy-paste the ENTIRE command below from Firefox into a Terminal, press <enter>, then enter password when sudo asks for password, then press enter again.

Tip: If you have a wheel mouse or 3 button mouse you do not need to type commands into the Terminal. Highlight the command written on the page. Move your cursor anywhere in the Terminal and press the wheel or middle button. Automatic Copy and paste! No spelling mistakes! No Typos! No other errors!

Not solved.
Wireless key is not getting on.
But in XP it get on.

Giving me the full output would have allowed me to see which configuration issues (could be more than 1 issue) are playing a role here. Now I am forced to make an educated guess....

Try this:

Step 1: Open Terminal from "Applications->Accessories->Terminal"

Step 2: Please copy-paste the following 2 commands into the Linux Terminal. Press <enter> after each command.

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install b43-fwcutter

b43-fwcutter exists in the Ubuntu repositories, but you will need a working wired Internet connection in Ubuntu in order to locate it and install it.

The only way to do that - in your case - is to connect the pc to the wireless router using a LAN cable, instead of using wireless.

After installing b43-fwcutter, reboot and then retest wireless.

Find another issue:

Usually I am using two wireless, one at home and another at my office for my Laptop.
Both will be connected automatically when enable the network on windows OS.
I cant connect Wired network at my office since the modem is not near me.
I have installed b43-fwcutter at my home. And could connect Wireless at home.
But at my office wireless is not connecting even after created another 'wireless network set up' in the name of my office.

why this ? could you please help me.
