Ohio 4-H Adaptive Adventures Camp
Registration due May 22. Ohio 4-H Adaptive Adventures Camp is held at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp with support of a 4-H Foundation grant. The facility is in Jackson County, Ohio, just south of Chillicothe. Each summer, we offer a camping experience for youth aged 8-adult who have unique needs that cannot be accommodated in a traditional camp setting. We typically have a small group of between 15-25 campers and their caregivers who spend the weekend doing all the normal camp things, modified for their needs. This year, Camp will be June 5-7. Try It. Explore It. Imagine What’s Next at the Ohio 4-H Spark EXPO
Ohio 4-H Spark EXPO is a hands-on career exploration experience connected to Ohio State’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, helping youth explore interests and imagine what’s next. Participants also spend time at Ohio State ATI, experiencing college life and career-focused programs.

Little Foodie Science Camp—June 15-19, 2026
Roll out the aprons and fire up the ovens for a fun-filled foodie-themed exploration inside our test kitchen and shiny manufacturing facility. Our young food scientist’s cohort will explore specific food groups and the science involved in the production and processing of food recipes and products. Campers ages 9 -13 will work with various ingredients, product formulations and processes used by the food industry, while having the opportunity to evaluate, make —and of course—devour their creations.
Little Foodie Science Camp will:
- Explore the wonders of food science through sensory, nutrition, recipe development and testing and hands-on cooking and baking.
- Provide a safe space for all campers.
- Foster new friendships through interactive team building and STEM education through the lens of food.
Camp will be hosted on The Ohio State University Campus in the Parker Food Science Building located at 2015 Fyffe Rd, Columbus, OH 43210 June 15-19, 2026.

Ohio 4-H Skillathons

Ohio 4-H Skillathons provide youth with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of animal science through hands-on stations and educational activities.
Skillathons are offered in a variety of species areas and are designed to help members strengthen their industry knowledge, communication skills, and decision-making abilities.

Ohio State Fair 4-H Livestock Judging Contest
July 26th, 2026
The Ohio State Fair 4-H Livestock Judging Contest allows youth to evaluate classes of livestock while developing critical thinking, evaluation, and oral reasoning skills.
Participants will evaluate beef, sheep, swine and goats and will have the opportunity to present oral reasons as part of the contest.
*Please note that youth registration will require an extension professionals signature to verify youth 4-H standing.

Ohio State Fair 4-H Poultry Judging Contest
July 11th , 2026
The Ohio State Fair 4-H Poultry Judging Contest offers youth the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the poultry industry through live bird evaluation, market classes, parts identification, egg grading, and other educational components.

Ohio State Fair 4-H Avian Bowl Contest
July 11th , 2026
The Ohio State Fair 4-H Avian Bowl Contest is a quiz-bowl style competition focused on poultry and avian science knowledge.
Youth work collaboratively as teams to answer industry-related questions in a fast-paced and engaging environment.

Vet for a Day will take place at the Ohio State Fair on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ohio Showcase Building. This hands-on event will include interactive demonstrations, real veterinary tools and equipment, and a college fair focused on education pathways and scholarships. The registration fee is $15 and includes lunch and a Vet for a Day t-shirt.
