VTO Reading gives teachers phoneme-level AI tools to track oral reading accuracy and make data-driven decisions in the classroom.
So, we made one.
Our platform combines cutting-edge AI with proven reading science to deliver individualized instruction at scale.
No teacher has time to listen to every child read. Our app is the solution with individualized instruction. The platform meets learners at their skill level, not their age.
The feedback from practice is detailed enough to make instructional decisions. You will know exactly what your students can read and where they struggle.
Our platform flexes to any scope and sequence, and you will not waste time on skills that have already been mastered. This makes filling in the gaps easier, improving reading accuracy faster.
Whether you're a classroom teacher or a specialized therapist, VTO adapts to your workflow.

The passionate experts behind VTO Reading.
Leta founded VTO Reading with one mission: to close the gap between what students need and what schools can realistically provide. After decades working directly with struggling readers, she saw too many learners falling through the cracks simply because there wasn't enough time, support, or individualized practice.
An accomplished education professional, Leta served as Executive Director of the Illuminations Center for Dyslexia, a National LETRS Professional Learning Facilitator, and Adjunct Professor of Special Education. She holds advanced degrees in dyslexia therapy and instructional leadership, along with certifications as a CERI Dyslexia Specialist and Certified Academic Language Therapist. Her book, Mississippi Rising: The Story of How the Last Became First in Literacy Growth, was published in 2022.
Ben is Co-Founder of VTO Reading, CEO of Cylotron, and a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Mississippi State University. With over seven years managing large-scale engineering projects and a background in AI, microelectronics, and signal processing, Ben brings deep technical and strategic expertise to VTO. A registered patent attorney, he led the effort to secure VTO's patent-pending status—bridging innovation and impact to turn research into real-world tools that accelerate literacy.
