The ongoing Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF) 2025, which began on September 22, witnessed 38 crore customer visits during the first 48 hours.
The sellers received orders from every single pincode in the country in 72 hours and more than 80 lakh products were delivered within the first two days, K.N. Srikanth, Director, Home, Kitchen and Outdoors, Amazon India told reporters here.
The first few days saw record participation from small and medium businesses, compared to previous editions, that highlights the growing role of digital marketplaces in empowering local entrepreneurs. More than two-thirds of these SMBs are based in Tier-2, 3 cities and beyond, he said.
Other than smartphones, the categories that witnessed increased sales include electronics, fashion and beauty, and everyday essentials. There has been a growing demand for sustainable mobility, wellness-driven living, and homegrown entrepreneurship this festive season, he said.
Shopping trends reveal a growing shift towards electric mobility in Kerala’s automobile landscape. The state’s automotive market grew 50 per cent year-on-year, driven largely by electric vehicles that now account for 4 out of every 5 two-wheelers sold.
With the support of GST savings, bank and Amazon Pay offers and the fast, reliable delivery network, Amazon is making festive shopping more inclusive and rewarding for customers, he said.
Amazon India’s Kerala presence includes over 34,000 sellers and 10,000 local shops, with seller registrations continuing to grow at nearly 20 per cent year-on-year.
Vikram Deshpande, Director – Product Management, Amazon India said the first 10 days of the Great Indian Festival have been path-breaking for sellers across the country. AGIF 2025 saw the highest-ever participation from Kerala sellers - with over 25 per cent growth compared to last year’s event.
“This festive season, we have witnessed a record number of Kerala sellers receiving a sale within the first 10 days of the event, along with the highest number of lakhpati sellers”, he said.
Amazon has expanded its Kerala operations network with the launch of a new Fulfilment Centre in Ernakulam, along with over 100 delivery stations, two sortation centres, and 150 I Have Space (IHS) partner stores, enhancing delivery speed and reliability across the State, while empowering local entrepreneurs through the IHS programme.
