Letter: You say - Brown is no Putin.
Byline: J.F. Lambert
Brown is no Putin IT was bad enough for the leader of the Labour Party to latch on to the reputations of Violette Szabo and other heroic figures in his recent book about courage. Now we find him in a vote catching exercise latching on to victims of Liverpool's gun crime culture (ECHO, Nov 17).
If Brown has the solution to this problem then why didn't he apply it weeks ago? Better still why did he not give his solution to Blair? Such delayed action seems only to confirm a growing belief that because of poor opinion poll ratings Labour is exploiting the problems its policies have created.
Trying to turn Brown into some Putin-like icon is embarrassing and one hopes, without much optimism, that the electorate of Liverpool will not be fooled by this brainwashing.
Unlike Brown, Putin leads a sovereign state. Brown on the other hand is doing his best to involve us ever more deeply with the EU where he can settle in comfort as functionary and messenger boy
Is it really so far-fetched that one day we will see his features beaming" down from posters in the Communist style? Hardly the 'Great Leader'. 'Grinning Oaf more like.
