SoundGhost’s latest plug-in takes an innovative approach to auto-panning, and divides incoming signals into three frequency bands that each come with their own set of modulation tools.
Orbit features a pair of adjustable crossover points that can be used to split the input signal into low, mid and high bands, all of which are equipped with independent Position, Width and Volume controls. Each band is also kitted out with a modulator that can be used to animate its parameters. Sine, triangle, square and random waveshapes are available, and they can be free-running or sync’ed to the tempo of the host DAW. Modulation depth can be set on a per-parameter basis, and it’s also possible to ‘overdrive’ the modulation shapes by pushing the Amount control to the extremes. Helpfully, the plug-in features a built-in correlation meter that helps users to keep an eye on their track’s mono compatibility.
