The Crow Hill Company’s latest sample library captures a children’s choir comprising a troupe of boys performing with “just the right amount of beautiful-menace”. Simply named Children’s Choir, the latest offering includes a collection of natural-sounding samples, but also offers a pair of alternative signals that have been twisted and mangled into something rather more sinister.
The company say that they made the best use of the time they had with the choir while complying with strict child-labour regulations, and that the new library delivers a broad spectrum of timbral possibilities. A range of short and sustained articulations are joined by more unusual offerings such as whispers, mouth noises and general chatter, and the natural samples are joined by a pair of processed alternatives that adopt a more menacing character.
