It provides a place for members of the NC State University community to access essential technology for working with data, including powerful computers and specialized software. The Dataspace supports anyone at NC State University working with data, creating visualizations, or using geospatial tools and methodologies.
Data Science Consulting is also available in the Dataspace for help with a wide range of data topics. Consulting is typically available on weekdays when class is in session from 10am-6pm. Please visit Get Data Help for more information and details about the current schedule.

Reserve a Dataspace Workstation
If you need to make a reservation longer than four hours, please contact us.
If you don't see a specific software that you would like to use, you may submit a Software Request.
The Dataspace is not reservable, but workstations in the Dataspace are available for both standard and extended reservations.
You can reserve workstations for a maximum of eight hours (two four-hour reservations) per day.
Please review the reservation guidelines for data reservations. Standard reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you need to run computationally intensive projects, such as training a machine-learning model, and require a workstation for longer than eight hours, you can submit a request for an extended reservation.
An extended reservation will be approved for up to four days and are approved based on workstation availability. We evaluate and respond to requests within two business days. Staff may request additional information or a consultation before approving the request.
If you need more than four days, you can request an extension after your reservation has started. Extensions will be approved based on workstation availability.
