How to Adopt a Pet with Joyful Pets
At Joyful Pets, we believe every pet deserves a loving home, and every family deserves to find their perfect companion. Our family-to-family rehoming process connects you directly with pet parents who are looking for the right match for their beloved companion. Here’s how it works:
1. Browse Our Available Pets
Visit our Meet Our Pets page to discover pets waiting for their next chapter. Each profile includes photos, videos, health info, and personality details.
2. Complete Your Family Profile
Found a pet that feels right? Click “Get Started” to complete your Family Profile. This helps us learn about your home and lifestyle so we can connect you with the right pet.
3. We’ll Be In Touch
Our team will review your profile and reach out within 48 hours. We may call to chat about how family-to-family rehoming works, or we’ll send you the next steps by email.
4. Introduction to the Pet’s Family
Once your profile is complete, we’ll share a summary of it with the pet’s current family. If they’d like to move forward, we’ll connect you so you can arrange a call or video chat to ask questions and learn about the pet’s personality, routine, and favorite things.
5. Meet and Greet
If the call goes well, you and the pet’s family can arrange an in-person or virtual Meet and Greet. This allows you to interact with the pet and see if it feels right for everyone.
6. Finalize the Rehoming
When it’s a match, you’ll complete the Rehoming Agreement and pay an adoption fee. The pet’s current family will provide their favorite things like toys, bedding, and food to help them feel at home right away.
7. Welcome Home!
Congratulations! Your new family member is home.
8. Ongoing Support
Our support doesn’t end at adoption. We offer post-adoption check-ins for the first three months, and we’re always here if you need us.
What the Adoption Fee Covers
The adoption fee is paid to Joyful Pets upon finalization, and it funds something we believe sets us apart: what happens after placement day.
For a minimum of three months, our team remains actively involved in your transition, providing regular check-ins and responsive guidance as your new family member settles in.
Every adopting family also receives a curated welcome package designed to support a confident start, including one free month of pet insurance, access to virtual vet visits, training resources, and discounts on pet services and supplies.
