Founding Inception Capital

In 2018, while leading global investments at Huobi, David Gan identified a critical gap: Western entrepreneurs had limited visibility into Asia’s market landscape, while Asian innovators found it challenging to enter the western market.

Determined to bridge this divide, David launched Inception Capital in 2021 – the first U.S.-based fund with deep, established ties across Asia. Since then, Inception has expanded its team, bringing together team members from global backgrounds to advance this mission. Across our venture fund and fund-of-funds, we invest in leading founders and mangers, empowering them with the strategic insights, go-to-market playbooks, and cross-border resources required to win on a global stage.
