The ILO has been supporting the sustainable development of the Amazon nut value chain in Peru, recognizing its importance for rural livelihoods, biodiversity conservation, and climate change mitigation. In collaboration with CITEproductivo Madre de Dios and the Regional Technical Working Group, the ILO facilitated a participatory process to develop A Roadmap for a Just Transition in the Amazon Nut Value Chain through Productive Jobs and Sustainability, which promotes coordination, value addition, and decent work within a just transition framework. This brief presents the initiative’s key milestones, components, and strategic direction.
