A dramatic conclusion come to Lala's altercation with her father. Though she attacked with many bites and scratches, she pinned Vermillion down and let the tears flow while looking him dead in his good eye.
"Do you really think I cared about some stupid duel?" Lala spat out in anger. "About who was pack leader?" The tears kept falling despite her best effort. "I just wanted you."
Vermillion finally understood the ramifications most of all when Lala's eyes softened in her sobs.
"I just wanted my father."
Seriously, the Anime really could've gone all in on the drama and angst here. A daughter neglected and her father unable to look away from the mess he created.
