For any interested expecting Mama’s; don’t hesitate. If you’re looking at this it’s probably because you are considering a Lactation Consultant. Please set yourself and your baby up for success with Evonne. I had a discovery call with Evonne about 10 days before I gave birth and then saw her a handful of times after. Breastfeeding is a roller coaster and I honestly would have given up if it weren’t for Evonne. She helped with getting my baby to latch comfortably and also helped with bodywork and her neck tension. Evonne has such a calm and nurturing approach to her care. She even helped me learn the best ways to encourage my baby to sleep and massages to help with constipation. Before seeing Evonne, my baby girl had lost 8% of her body weight in the first few days but after just one appointment with Evonne, she “overachieved” on getting back on track. Shes growing so well now! We also saw Hideko for a bodywork session and she was so gentle and amazing at explaining to us everything that she was noticing. She gave us homework to help our baby also and we saw the difference in just a few days. Our baby became so much more comfortable. Both Evonne and Hideko are so flexible with in-office offerings, home visits and virtual follow-ups. They provided so much information and tutorials also to review. My family and I are so beyond grateful to Evonne and Hideko. You are in amazing hands with them!

I took two virtual classes with Evonne through my workplace's family services provider and had a great experience with both classes. I like Evonne's sense of humor and overall attitude toward teaching sometimes stressful topics for pregnant people! My partner and I both found her classes extremely practical and we feel more prepared for what's coming ;)

I did both virtual and home visit consultations with Evonne and she was incredibly helpful to me. I was desperate for help from engorgement, latching, and concerns about whether or not my baby was receiving enough food so was able to snag a virtual appointment first. Evonne was so helpful online and was able to troubleshoot and help me remotely! It was really impressive and surprising to me just from seeing things through video, she was able to guide me through some things. That's how expert she is! When I met her in person, she was able to evaluate any issues physically and helped me be able to latch better through in-person instruction. I was so in awe of how she was able to maneuver my newborn and she has such a calming presence for both new moms and babies. I highly recommend Evonne and her services. She is extremely professional, helpful, experienced, and has such a warm demeanor -- which is so welcome during this potentially fraught time for a new mom. I will say that breastfeeding is no longer daunting to me after working with her.

We met Evonne at her office specifically for her expertise in bottle refusal. I had been exclusively nursing my son for 5 months and was due to return to work in a few weeks and had no luck getting him to take a bottle. Evonne assessed my son, had us practice using the bottle with him, taught us some oral exercises and stretches, and gave us specific tips on how to support bottle feeding that was tailored to his needs. Evonne is so professional, knowledgeable, nurturing, and warm. We practiced and persisted after our visit with the after care plan and we were able to successfully teach our son how to use a bottle for daycare. I am so grateful for Evonne and the services she provides which support working moms.

I was paired with New North Baby by the Lactation Network. Setting up my first appointment with Evonne was quick and easy. I loved that she sent out the intake forms she needed before our first appointment. I also loved the reminder texts to go back and finish the paperwork (having a newborn makes it hard to do it all in one sitting). My husband and I felt very welcomed by Evonne at our first session. She is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Because of Evonne, I feel confident with breastfeeding, my baby is eating well, and my husband learned how he could support me. (Remind me about posture, getting me a pillow, etc.) I look forward to our future sessions. If you have difficulty breastfeeding or want to learn more, you cannot go wrong with seeing Evonne!

I attended a newborn breastfeeding class with Evonne and as a FTM I felt way more prepared going into the breastfeeding journey. Once my little one arrived I used Evonne’s advice to help his latching. Highly recommend her as an IBCLC!

Yvonne saved breastfeeding for me! No exaggeration. After 3 months of a sometimes-good sometimes-horrible breastfeeding routine, I asked my doula for a recommendation and she sent me to Yvonne. Yvonne hopped on a call with me that very night and talked through so many things to put my mind at ease! I was at the end of my rope and she gave me a breath of fresh air and hope for breastfeeding. We scheduled a consult via Skype and I wasn't sure she'd be able to fully see the latch or positioning, but she nailed it, giving me new positions and suggestions that immediately - that same day - made things so much better! I've been breastfeeding without pain or problems for 3 more months now and it's such a gift to connect with my baby this way. I can't believe I almost quit. Thank you, thank you, thank you Yvonne!

When you're pregnant, or even before, you hear the adage "Breast is best." It seems like breast feeding should be natural and easy. I'm sure for some people it is, but that was not the case for me. I met Evonne Smith when I took an infant feeding class and found her warm and approachable. She was great at answering questions and giving me confidence. After my son was born, he had to spend 5 days in the NICU where he was introduced to a bottle before he had the chance to breast feed. When he was home, I scheduled a session with Evonne to help us both figure out what we were doing. Every time I tried to breast feed, my child cried and refused to eat. Evonne helped me relax and together we came up with a manageable plan. She was great at teaching me self-care to help prevent and treat clogged ducts as well as being very non-judgemental when it came to my fears and frustrations. Bringing home a newborn is incredibly stressful, but Evonne helped make it easier.

Evonne is amazing— professional, warm, and very knowledgeable. She was referred by my doula and came to my home within 20 hours of being home from the hospital to help me get my baby fed. Her personalized plan for me and my baby got him back to his birth weight in less than 10 days. I will always refer her to friends and I will continue to use her services while my baby is young.

I was really struggling with breastfeeding. It had been about 6 weeks and I was exhausted as my daughter was constantly nursing and never seemed full. Evonne determined that my daughter was dealing with muscle tightness that was not allowing her to transfer milk from the breast, when all that time I had assumed I wasn’t making enough milk for her. She wrote up a plan for me and informed my physician who agreed with her assessment. My daughter is now in OT and is getting the care she needs. Evonne was professional and caring, and she really helped me to tackle my breastfeeding issues. I highly recommend to moms needing breastfeeding support!
