    Hi Yoast team,

I’m experiencing an issue where the Yoast SEO meta box no longer loads in the post editor, and I’m unable to save SEO titles, meta descriptions, or focus keyphrases.

    Here’s what I’ve already checked:

    • No server-side blocks (confirmed with my host, BigScoots — nginx and Cloudflare were checked).
    • REST API requests return a 403 error unless authenticated.
    • Site caching layers (Redis, Ezoic) were disabled temporarily — no change.
    • Tested switching to the Classic Editor — did not solve the issue.
    • Yoast SEO plugin was deleted and reinstalled — still the same behavior.
    • No active security plugins.

It seems the Yoast plugin is trying to access the REST API without proper authentication, resulting in blocked requests.

Could you please advise if there’s a way to configure Yoast to work properly with authenticated REST API requests, or suggest another solution?

Thanks in advance for your support!

    Sara

    Hello @sarad100,

I’m sorry aboput your experience. Have you consdiered performing a conflict check? Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.
