When I attempt to create a login using Firefox the page does not create the login and progress to the next step of setting up a password
That’s odd but just to be clear, don’t create anymore accounts. Firefox does work for others and people have registered successfully since registration was recently re-opened.
Thanks for the response Jan. I went ahead and registered using Chrome. Just to provide more info, I have a mostly vanilla install of FF save for my ads blocker, and I attempted to clear the browser and clean reload the page and still experienced the issue.
Since I am now registered I will no longer have need to attempt it through FF, but I am hopeful that the info I’ve provided can be helpful to the team.
We do understand your issue. However, do not create multiple accounts. For any reason, ever. You are one person and it’s one account per person. Creating additional accounts will eventually get you flagged as a spammer, and banned from this site.
Hello, Otto. As far as I’m aware I did not create more than one account.
What I was reporting is that the account creation process was not working from FireFox, and I did this for the benefit of WordPress.org. I’m not really sure how this degraded into a discussion about creating multiple accounts, other than from misunderstanding. I apologize if that misunderstanding stemmed from my post in some way. I was under the assumption that WordPress.org would like to know that I had encountered an error with the processes on a particular browser and that the process worked on another browser.
I’m also assuming that reporting is better than not reporting, as when I’m involved in support for a product I like to have as much information about errors as possible so that they can be handled as needed. Even if it appears to be a local error, that information can still be helpful in troubleshooting if there are subsequently more reports of a similar type.
To this end I want to reiterate that I hope this report will be helpful to the team, and that I would be happy to provide any further info that may also be helpful.
