Woo services canada post shipping problem

    I have a client’s site, which uses woocommerce services – canada post for live shipping rates. The problem that is happening is that most days the shipping changes from saying Canada Post (which is what he uses) to USPS (which he does not use), resulting in any customer getting no shipping rate available.

    He does not have any USPS options set up at all, only Canada Post

    Shipping zones > Canada > Canada Post (WooCommerce Services)

    When we check the store and it’s got the USPS back, Canada Post is not listed. We gop to the zone and simply save it again and canada post is back and works fine. Next day, it’s gone again. I’m at a loss for what could cause this but it’s a severe disruption of his business, since clients can’t get their order processed with no shipping…

    Hi bluerain,

    Thanks for reporting this — we’ll try and see what the issue could be.

    The available shipping method is controlled by the selected currency (under WooCommerce -> Settings). Do you know what the currency is set to, and whether it has been changing lately?

    The currency is variable in the store, using currency switcher for woo, as the client has CAD and US clients and needed both currencies. The default currency is CAD but the currency switcher will change to US when a US visitor is onsite.

    Hi bluerain,

    I see that the Currency Switcher for WooCommerce plugin filters the currency —
    which is what WooCommerce Services uses to support live rates for a given currency — triggering an intermittent incompatibility bug. I have filed an issue in the GitHub repository (https://github.com/Automattic/woocommerce-services/issues/1312) to track this and to determine what we can do to prevent it. Thank you for reporting!
