Videos not Loading Correctly

    Heya! I have a self-hosted video and static image gallery built with Simply with random sorting in masonry mode and everything looks pretty good, but there’s two buggy things I’m not understanding how to fix.

    1. The thumbnails for videos don’t show up in some browsers. It seems mostly problematic on both Chrome and Safari on iPhone

    2. The audio in some but not all video files will not play. When I play the videos natively on my computer the audio is intact, however when I try to play it from the gallery in browser it doesn’t work. I looked a little further and the audio also seems to be gone from the video file in the wordpress media library.

    I’ve re-encoded the videos several times thinking it might be a buffering or codec issue but they are rendered in H.264 / AAC which is the preferred formatting from what I understand. Can someone help me figure this one out?

    The gallery does not contain any video player, the gallery only uses the native capabilities of the browser (i.e. the <video> tag). If your video does not play on the iPhone (which happens most often), it means that your video codec is not selected correctly. To view the correct operation of the gallery, you can visit the plugin’s demo site.

    Is there a solution to this? My video gallery is showing fine on PC. but on iphone the thumbnails aren’t showing – but they do popup and play in light box.

    The plugin demo site is working perfectly. I can see the thumbnails and play the videos.
