    Guys, i am a noob with website development. Please assist.

    I enabled Membership in the settings and checked anyone can register, but I still cant register on the site. I get the following error “Only administrators can add new users”

    I cleared the cache, tried different accounts a web browsers…same issue everywhere.

    Can anyone please help

    1. Verify the subscriber role in the settings page, check the “New User Default Role” setting. Make sure it’s set to a role that allows user registration, like Subscriber.
    2. Disable all plugins and switch to a default WordPress theme (e.g., Twenty Twenty-One). Try registering a new user again. If it works, then the issue is likely caused by a plugin or theme. Re-enable plugins and the theme one by one to identify the problematic one.
