Why does the “Browser user-agent to ignore” setting under “Live Traffic View” only support one User-Agent while the setting above it, “List of comma separated IP addresses to ignore”, accepts multiple entries?

It seems like an oversight not to allow multiple User-Agents separated by commas. I guess you are worried about them containing commas in their values, but I would still recommend adding something to let us specify more than 1. It’s a little pointless in its current state to only ignore 1.

  • Hi Eaton,
I confirm that adding multiple user-agents in that field won’t work at the moment, since this feature wasn’t written with multiple user-agents in consideration, could you please let me know which agents you were trying to hide? our team would find this helpful if decided to consider this in any of the upcoming releases.

By the way, you can filter out multiple user-agents in Live Traffic, please check this screenshot.

    Thanks.

The User-Agents I want to exclude are Jetpack’s uptime monitor, and UptimeRobot’s.

Thanks for the screenshot – that’s a good workaround!
EDIT: Actually it’s kind of pointless since it doesn’t stick around after refreshing the viewer. ):

Yes, the filters need to be re-adjusted on every page load, since you have mentioned these two specific bots, I think you can easily ignore their IPs in “List of comma separated IP addresses to ignore”, because their IPs will be almost static all the time I assume.

    Thanks.

@wfalaa Has any consideration been given to this suggestion?

I would really like to permanently exclude certain User-Agents from Live Traffic.
