Just updated Siteground Optimizer to version 6. Since then, I get “Could not connect to the WordPress REST API” with many of the functions of the plugin, including converting images and purging cache.

If I disable “Enable 6G Firewall Protection” in ‘All in One WP Security” those functions work. They even work with “Enable legacy 5G Firewall Protection” enabled.

These SG Optimizer functions worked prior to the 6.01 update.

    Hey @speakoutenglish

Would it be possible to provide your site URL and we will check the issue?

I have already downgraded to 5.7. All is working well so I’ll keep it there for a while.

If it helps identify a bug perhaps, my address is esllessonhandouts.com

    Thank you.

    Hey @speakoutenglish

This is not an issue with the SiteGround Optimizer plugin. As you can see the settings are properly loaded, which means the GET requests to the REST API are allowed by the 6G Firewall.

We’ve changed how the settings are updated and instead of POST requests, we send PUT requests.

For some reason the 6G Firewall block such requests, so please contact the developers of All in One WP Security.

    Regards,
    Stanimir
