Hello Joep,
Thanks for reaching out about your SEO title. Can you check the page source to confirm that what you have entered in the Yoast SEO plugin is what’s in the source?
Hello maybellyne,
I checked that and the page source is still showing the OLD SEO title, not the new one… so back-end is updated but frond-end is not… Any ideas?
Can you provide screenshots and a sample URL that highlight the issue you are experiencing? You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.
This is the back-end settings screenshot: https://snipboard.io/OKsNn5.jpg
This is the page with the issue: https://beeldcentrum.nl/fotovakopleiding/
Here you can view the source and see <title></title> is still 2250 and not 2350: http://view-source:https://beeldcentrum.nl/fotovakopleiding/
Is this enough information?
In the Page overview page (WordPress > Pages > All Pages), can confirm what is showing as the SEO title for that specific page?

The Wrong SEO title… not the one I saved… any idea what is wrong?
Thanks. All the screenshots have been very helpful. Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.
Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.
If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts
Hello Maybellyne,
Just deactivated all plugins except Yoast SEO, activated twentry Three theme and problem not solved:(
Any other ideas?
Thanks for following up @precies.
Do you mean that with Yoast SEO 20.13, Twenty Twenty-Three theme and WordPress 6.3, the SEO title you have entered in our plugin is still not shown in the page source?
Well, we have seen unexpected issues where the previously optimized data is invalid or incomplete. We’ll start with resetting the optimization to ensure we’ve removed any invalid data. Please try these steps:
- Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
- Go to Tools > Yoast Test
- Locate the Yoast SEO section and click on the ‘Reset indexables tables & migrations‘, ‘Reset Prominent words calculation‘, and ‘Reset Internal link counter‘ buttons. After each click, the page will reload to confirm that the specific reset was successful.
- Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Start SEO data optimization” button to allow Yoast to rescan your content.
Do let me know how it goes.
Hello Maybellyne,
Problem is solved. After trying this ““Start SEO data optimization”, I got an error… Did not know where it came from but after removing a function (for Divi) in our functions.php I could start the SEO data optimization and that solved the problem.
Thanks for all the help!
