I use the Query Monitor plugin to track any code issues and it reports the following 11 PHP deprecated errors for the WooCommerce PayFast Gateway plugin
I went ahead with checking if there’s anything reported on this, to no avail.
Just to clarify, which version of the plugin (changelog linked here) is currently active on the site?
To get an idea of how your site is configured, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via ‘WooCommerce > Status’. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

I appreciate you sending over your system status reports – everything looks good to me!
I went ahead and installed WooCommerce Payfast Gateway 1.6.0 on my testing site, which is running on PHP 8.3.1. Interestingly, I didn’t see the deprecated warning in the Query Monitor plugin, nor in the WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
Just to put your mind at ease, I would like to assure you that PHP deprecation warnings are not errors but are notices that certain PHP features are no longer recommended and may be removed in future versions.
However, your detailed report is helpful and appreciated. I’ve escalated this issue to our development team for further investigation here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-payfast/issues/179
At the time being, we can’t give you an estimated for when the team will look into or fix the issue as bug reports are prioritized based on a few criteria. If you’d like to receive updates, please subscribe to the GitHub issue.
In the meantime, your site should continue to function normally despite these warnings. If you do encounter any functional issues, please let us know immediately.
Rest assured, I wasn’t able to replicate the issue on my end and everything seems working fine.
