    Sorry, I didn’t see your support topic.

    That setting only affects new images that are uploaded. It doesn’t change previously-uploaded images. If you want to change previously-uploaded images, you would have to regenerate the images as advised in the plugin’s readme:

    Images can be regenerated with a plugin like Regenerate Thumbnails or via WP-CLI with the wp media regenerate command.

    This is my understanding. I’m not the primary developer for this plugin so I’m not 100% sure images which previously were generated to as AVIF would then get re-generated as WebP. @adamsilverstein would know better.

    They would be as long as when you chose to regenerate all images (both the plugin and CLI offer options to control this). You can also choose to leave the old images around or delete them.
