    Hi

I have a specific page where there are a lot of internal links. That page is (when not cached, maybe add url parameters to omit caching) very slow, most of all times it takes about 30-40s to load. Removing links makes it faster by every link. Only when stripped down to 2-3 links it is fast. It seems to happen only on page-single sites, it doesn’t happen with posts, as it seems.

Any idea what this could be? Also, in our development environment, nothing happens, the pages are loading fast no matter how many links there are on.

Tried with all other plugins disabled, still happens. Tried with wordpress default theme, still happens. It’s only fixed, when yoast is disabled completely.

I’m analyzing the code of the plugin since a few hours now, but it seems to be impossible to track down where the slowness happens exactly. Hopefully a yoast developer has an idea where to search.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

We apologize for the difficulties you are having with the plugin. We would like some more information.

    A. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v11.2.1? If you update, does the issue resolve?

    B. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    C. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.

If all are updated, please create a new GitHub issue for our developers.
