I’ve been using Toplytics for a few years now, but we have constant issues with new data not being retrieved from GA. We have it set to update twice daily, but it never automatically updates. If I manually update, it will instantly fetch the data.

The cron is running without issue, so I’m not sure where the problem lies. Is there a specific URL we can add to a cron job to fetch the latest data? I noticed an issue was reported for this here https://github.com/presslabs/toplytics/issues/153

Is this a known issue or a local conflict?

    Hello @adam_ph,

We haven’t received any other feedback about this issue. I checked it on my test site, and the hourly update is working correctly.

I will change to fetching it twice a day and keep track of how things are going. I’ll return when I have more details.

    Hello @adam_ph,

From what I see, the information has been updated accurately, and the content appears different from what I observed the last time. Can you check on the settings page at /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=toplytics to see if the new data has been retrieved?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I’ve got two sites running Toplytics now and both don’t fetch the data at the set intervals. I have also installed the Cron Events plugin and don’t see any Cron events for the times set; I have it set to fetch twice daily.

Can you let me know what the URL would be to trigger this cron manually?

    The time output is:

    Hi @adam_ph!

Thank you for the information. I can confirm now that the cron is not saving correctly with the new time intervals(twice daily and daily). I will investigate the problem and get back to you.

I’m not sure why the cron is not displayed on your end. Do you see it when you set the update time to hourly? If not, can you try to remove/reconfigure the plugin and then save the settings from the plugins?

    Hi @adam_ph!

Could you please test the fix I implemented http://dl.presslabs.net/temp/toplytics.zip before I push it to production?

    Hi @denisflorin117,

Excellent! Many thanks, I have installed this version and so far the cron event is showing on the cron list. I’ve run it manually from the cron list and will wait to see if it runs correctly.

    Thanks

Good news, the cron appears to be working now. The update time is recorded on Toplytics.

    Many thanks
