Thank you for reporting. I’ll take a closer look and work on compatibility 🙂
For now, I would suggest to mark each page/post that redirect with the option “Exclude from XML Sitemap”. You can do this from the Quick Editor fields on the Pages list, or from the Page edit screen itself.
Hi again,
In fact, the behavior as it is, can be desirable for many users. Redirecting between sites from the same owner is common and a sitemap on one domain may contain URLs from another domain. As long as both domains are verified under the same Google Search Console…
Do you have many redirects? Are they to domains that are not under your Google Search Console account?

It’s not desirable, since all links redirect to pages already present in the sitemap, or completely outside of the domain.
If you have many post redirections, I would recommend using a plugin like Redirection instead of pages that redirect. Lighter and faster… Or do you specifically want those redirections to appear in your feeds and archive pages?
In any case, I’ll consider an option to automatically exclude these posts/pages but until then, you’ll have to use the “Exclude from XML Sitemap” option for each linked post and page.

We removed such meta box.
Why do you believe the Redirection plugin is lighter and faster? I haven’t reviewed the code, but its size is more than double, which doesn’t seem promising.

Code size is not an indication of speed, but indeed your mileage may vary 🙂
Did you strip out the meta box because you see slowness on the admin side too?
