• Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the CAPTCHA 4WP plugin on my website. The plugin is working correctly on normal (non-AMP) pages. However, on AMP pages, it is returning the following error:

“Could not connect to the reCAPTCHA service. Please check your internet connection and reload to get a reCAPTCHA challenge.”

Example of an affected AMP page:
    https://www.cryptobreaking.com/blackrocks-q1-sees-impressive-3-billion-inflows-in-digital-assets/?amp=1

Please find below the screenshot showing the error.

    I am using:

    • CAPTCHA 4WP Plugin Version: 7.5.0
    • CAPTCHA Type: V3 Invisible CAPTCHA
    • WordPress Bunyad AMP Plugin. Version 2.5.2 | By ThemeSphere, AMP Project Contributors

It seems that the plugin is not properly handling reCAPTCHA on AMP pages, while it works fine on standard pages. Could you please advise how to fix this issue or if this is a known compatibility problem?

    Thank you for your support.

    Best regards,
    Vincenzo

Thank you for reaching out and for the detailed report!

We had a look at the page you shared, and while we understand the error you’re seeing, we wanted to clarify a few important points that should help identify what’s going on:

    • From your message and testing, it’s clear that our plugin is functioning as expected on standard pages — and we did confirm that our CAPTCHA code is properly loaded and enforced there (I checked your /wp-login page to confirm that it loads correctly where it’s supposed to – native login form); so that’s a good step forward.
    • The form displayed on the footer area of the page you shared with us, seems to have a custom implementation, and not one of the WordPress default forms that our Free edition of the plugin supports.

In fact, we couldn’t detect our CAPTCHA script being loaded on that form at all — which confirms that our plugin is not being applied/integrated to that form. Can you double check and see if you can locate the other plugin that’s enabling that captcha implementation ?

Just so you know – even though you are using V3 which loads globally on the site, you will still need to integrate the forms correctly (that’s available in the Premium edition only )
    • Our Free edition is restricted to native WordPress forms. To support third-party or custom forms (like this one), our Premium edition is required, and also it will require manual integration to get CAPTCHA rendering and validating properly on such forms, which we are not supporting as out of the box.

NOTE: if by any chance you are a Premium user, feel free to email us at [email protected] where we can guide you on how to create this integration yourself moving forward. Forums are limited to Free edition support only.
    • If you’re running multiple CAPTCHA or security plugins on your site, it’s possible they may interfere with one another — particularly with rendering or JavaScript loading. This could lead to unexpected behavior like the one you’re encountering. If you suspect that’s the case, we recommend temporarily disabling other CAPTCHA solutions to test for conflicts.

Let’s also try disabling our plugin first, and see if the error that you are reporting goes away – that would also be a good initial test.

Let us know what you find from the above suggestions. Looking forward to hearing back from you!
