    Hello,

I am experiencing several issues with the AMP extension on my WordPress site. In Google Search Console, I am getting the following errors for multiple pages specifically when I create a new article and attempt to index it manually :

    1. “Page retrieval: Failed – Server connection error”.
    2. “Unable to index the AMP version: Anomaly during crawling”.

Here is what I have tested so far:

    1. Contacted my hosting provider (OVH): They confirmed that there are no incidents on their side.
    2. Deactivated security extensions (Akismet and Wordfence): No improvement observed.
    3. Deactivated extensions one by one: The issue was resolved only when I deactivated the AMP extension.
    4. Search Console: The live test for the AMP URL consistently fails with the same errors as long as the extension is active.

    I would like to know:

    • Which specific settings in the AMP extension could cause these errors?
    • Are there any recent updates that could be responsible for this issue?
    • What steps would you recommend to resolve these problems while keeping the AMP extension active?

Thank you in advance for your help! 😊

    Hello @mike7759

Thanks for reaching out to us. We can only assist with the official AMP plugin. When we checked your website it looked like you’re using another AMP plugin named “AMP for WP” plugin. For help with that plugin, please reach out to their support forums.

As the topic is not related to this AMP website, I will be making this topic as resolved.

Absolutely ! I was originally using your extension but due to the problems I encountered, I was forced to switch to AMP for WP with regret.

    Hello @mike7759

Which specific settings in the AMP extension could cause these errors?

There are no specific settings or AMP extension that can cause these errors, the error indicates that Googlebot couldn’t establish a connection to your server to fetch the AMP page. This can be caused by various factors, including server overload, network issues, or misconfigurations.

Are there any recent updates that could be responsible for this issue?

There are no recent updates made in AMP plugin that could cause issues, there might be updates in third-party plugins or themes that can cause the issues.

What steps would you recommend to resolve these problems while keeping the AMP extension active?

    – Check PHP error logs (you can ask your hosting provider for error log) to understand what is causing the issue, you can send error log to us using this form

    – Check your server config and rules that might be blocking Googlebot or redirecting AMP URLs.

    – If you have a caching plugin, ensure it’s compatible with AMP and properly configured. Incompatible caching rules can cause server connection issues.

    – Consider upgrading your hosting plan if resource limitations are a recurring problem.

    We hope this helps!
