When you hit the expand PDF – there isn’t a way to restore it back down to normal size and get back to reading the blog.

Is this an issue on our site or a bug/limitation in PDF Embedder?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @edit4ever

I just checked your site, it looks like for some reason the plugin generates an error in the browser console when anyone clicks on the same expand/close icon to close the fullscreen view of the PDF Viewer.

I have a feeling that your site cached that older version of the JS files shipped with the plugin, as the currently released versions don’t even have the code I see on your site.

Could you please try clearing the assets cache on your site?

I’ve cleared the site cahces – as well as uninstalled the premium and standard plugin – cleared caches again and reinstalled the newest plugins.

Unfortunately, I get the same result.

I figured it out what’s happening on your site.

So, to identify different containers where we embed our PDF Viewer, we use ID attributes. This ID is then used for different internal purposes. As a rule of thumb, there should never be duplicated ID attributes on a page (here is a related discussion).

    Now, back to your site.

You have duplicated the whole content for mobile and for desktop. I assume there are some padding/margin differences, maybe something else.

So you have our PDF Viewer with the same PDF file from the Media library in “desktop” part of the page and in the “mobile” part. This creates duplicated IDs, which breaks the “uniqueness” of PDF file references we rely on.

You can quickly fix that by re-uploading the same PDF file again (duplicating it) to the Media library, so the PDF will get its new unique ID, and then use that new duplicated PDF file in the “mobile” part of your page.

That would be easier than restructuring your content. But I would advise to actually restructure it, because now you have duplicated text on a page that Google (and other search engines) may not like.

    I hope that helps.

Thank you! This issue was actually buried in our post template – so we’ve removed the duplicate mobile block and all is working correctly.

We appreciate the time to investigate the issue and provide a solution!

    That’s great, happy for you.

I would appreciate it if you could leave a review about our plugin if you feel like doing so 🙂
