error after wordpress update

    The site is down after updating to 6.6.5. Error message was :

    Warning: require(/xxx/xxx/public_html/wp-includes/html-api/html5-named-character-references.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /xxx/xxx/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 252


    I’ve now fixed this and got the following error:

    public_html/wp-includes/html-api/class-wp-html-decoder.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/XXXX/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 256

    Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘/home/swimwell/public_html/wp-includes/html-api/class-wp-html-decoder.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php’) in /home/XXX/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 256

    Hi there!

    If you haven’t already, try deactivating all plugins and use a core bundled theme like Twenty Twenty Four to see if that resolves the issue. If that resolves things, activate one plugin at a time.
