Does not work with Presto Player

    Hey there, I’d like to use the free “Presto Player” plugin to provide a better user experience with less distraction and for a better branding.

    However, it seems that “Embed Privacy” ist not working on “Presto Player” embeds.

    Any chance to make your plugin compatible with the “Presto Player” plugin?

    I had contacted their support too, but in my experience US-devs often do not care so much about legal issues caused by their plugins 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Hey there,

    I have checked all updates since I had posted this issue, but it seems that Presto Player is still unsupported, correct?

    Any ETA for this?

    The reason I ask is that few clients of mine use the Presto Player in conjunction with Borlabs Cookies “content blocker”. The only 3rd party providers they use are YouTube or Vimeo for hosting their videos. So using a complete Consent Banner solution like Borlabs, Complianz or Real Cookie Banner seems like overkill and also harms bounce rates.

    They’d prefer to use a simpler method like your “Embed Privacy” plugin, but as long as it doesn’t cover the Presto Player they still need to stick with these bloated consent banners 😉

    Would be really cool and helpful, if you can provide some info on this.

    Hi Sascha,

    I already looked into it but it was more complex than I would have liked it to be. Currently, it’s hard for me to find time for feature implementation in my free plugins, since my commercial ones have a higher priority right now.

    Maybe in the end of the year or in the beginning of the next year …

    Hi Sascha,

    I just checked again and found a regular expression working, so that you can add the provider by yourself:

    /<!--presto-player:video_id=(.|\s)+?(?=<\/presto-player>)<\/presto-player>(.|\s)+?(?=presto-player#presto-player-)presto-player#presto-player-(.|\s)+?(?=<\/script>)<\/script>/

    I will not add it by default, since Presto Player can embed multiple different sources and thus it’s not properly detectable which source is used (local, Vimeo, YouTube etc.). Thus, the overlay cannot properly show the correct information (if it’s a YouTube video, it must be stated accordingly as well as give information to the privacy policy of YouTube).
