Default category level when adding new category from post

When adding a category from a deeper category level from within a post, where one first changes the level, and then adds a category, if one wants then to add a second category, then one has to change level again from the base level, so as to add an extra category on the specific child level. It would make more sense if when changing the category level, adding a category, then adding another one, one should remain on the same level, rather than go back to the base one.
