    Hi,

I just updated to PPV 3.0 on 2 sites and as I know these 2 have code snippets to change the expiration time, I wanted to set it via the new setting and remove the snippet. However, there’s no PPV section/setting at Settings – Reading. I don’t see any errors on screen or in the browser console.

I also did a fresh install on a test site and there the settings does show up.

So I’ve tried to deactivate the plugin and the code snippet, activate the plugin again and checked, but still no setting. What am I missing here?

    Thanks,
    Jos

The settings UI is not visible if you’re using the ppp_nonce_life filter. I’ve updated the FAQ section to clarify this.

That immediately raises another question: How can I switch from the now used code snippet to the built-in setting of the plugin to keep it simple and not needing extra snippets? Because it doesn’t show up if I remove the snippet.

Make sure you don’t have the snippet in another place or another plugin active like Public Post Preview Configurator.

I already did. That plugin was used in the past, but it was abandoned, so we switched to the code snippet to add the filter.

I’ll do a search for ppp_nonce_life in the whole code on the site to see if it shows up somewhere else.

It appears that the plugin linkPizza-Manager is changing the ppp_nonce_life as well, but has only 2 options 30 days (if an option is checked, which isn’t on these sites) or the default 48 hours. It doesn’t have an option to set a custom value.

So I’ve created a support topic for them as well: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/conflict-with-public-post-preview-3-0/

LinkPizza Manager has been updated to 5.5.5 and it’s fixed now.
