The tables still work in the front of the website, but I can’t do anything in the backend. I have the Tablepress link in the side menu and the only option under that is Upgrade. When I view the list of tables, the only thing I can do is show and copy the short code. Screenshot:

    Here is what I’ve done/checked:

    • I deleted the plugin folder and uploaded a new copy.
    • I installed the Fix corrupted tables extension and activated it.
    • I rolled back to Version 2.4.4.
    • PHP, WordPress Core, Plugins and Themes are all up to date, except a couple of plugins that are updated on the live site, but not the staging site I am working on – need license to update.

    Nothing is making it work.

I will try deactivating plugins and using a standard theme next, but I thought I’d see if you had any ideas first.

    Thanks.

    Hi @njaknjak,

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

This indicates a problem with the access capabilities. To fix this, please update to TablePress 3.1.1 again and then try this: https://tablepress.org/faq/tablepress-not-in-admin-menu/

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Dear Tobias,

We are also experiencing problems with version 3.1.1, in our case We cannot import tables.

I deactivate all my other plugins, tried the 2025 theme and updated my current theme. Still did not work. Here is a screenshot of the only options I get in the backend:

I was finally able to enable debugging (long story) and I get these 2 warnings repeatedly (462 warnings total):

[15-Apr-2025 16:05:11 UTC] PHP Warning: Trying to access array offset on int in /chroot/home/xxxxxxxxxx/html/wp-content/plugins/tablepress/classes/class-evaluate-phpspreadsheet.php on line 49

I had tried that already, but it didn’t work. I tried it again and it wouldn’t let me. I did it directly in the database and it worked.

    THANKS!!

    Hi @njaknjak,

great to hear that this helped, and that everything is working again 🙂

Those PHP warnings in the class-evaluate-phpspreadsheet.php file should fix themselves after saving your tables again. It seems like some cells are not stored as strings internally (which could happen in older versions).

@aaragaodi: The problem that you are seeing is unrelated. Please try the suggestion from https://tablepress.org/faq/edit-screen-empty-sections/ and otherwise please open a new thread here in the forums, thanks! There, please post if you are seeing any JavaScript errors in the browser’s error log console, available via the Developer Tools in the browser menu.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

In our case the solution was upgrading to wordpress 6.8!

    Thanks.

    Hi @aaragaodi,

awesome! Yes, this would also flush that cache (by using a new version string), so this should indeed fix this problem as well 🙂

Thanks for letting me know that you found a solution!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress in the plugin directory. Thanks!
