Hi,
Thanks for reaching out. I’ve run a few tests, and I’m noticing very inconsistent results with justified in the current version and old versions dating back to 2017. I’m going to flag this setting for review. Based on your desired layout, I recommend setting the alignment to Center to see how that looks on your end as that should result in the desired setup.
For more overall options with alignment, I recommend switching to the SiteOrigin Button Grid Widget. This widget can be enabled by navigating to Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets.
Kind regards,
Alex
Thanks Alex
Unfortunately around 60 of my pages are affected by this issue so if an early fix is likely it would be easier for me just to wait.
Any idea on timescale?
Kind regards
Lawrence
PS I have tried the centre alignment setting but although the buttons are centralised, they are different sizes and so look clumsy.
Hi Lawrence
Thanks for your help. Might it be possible export the layout you linked above? From within Page Builder, click Layouts > Import/Export > Download Layout. If you could perhaps temporarily upload the file to WeTransfer or any online location and send us the link, that would be great.
Hi Andrew
When I click Layouts > Import/Export > Download Layout, a line appears around the “Download Layout” button but so far as I can see nothing is downloaded.
Thanks. That sounds like a focus interaction border. Does anything happen if you click the Download button again?
No. The border just flashes off and on again.
Thanks for trying. Unfortunately, I’m unable to replicate the described issue. There might be a conflict on the page or a browser issue. You can perhaps try with another browser and see if the issue persists.
OK Andrew.
Thanks for looking at this problem.
I will probably just stop using the SiteOrigin buttons as they no longer work for me.
All the best
Lawrence
Hi Lawrence
I haven’t come across an issue exporting layouts in the past. For interest’s sake, here is how the process should work. If there is a particular browser you’d like us to test exporting a layout, we’d be happy to do so and help out there. It’s not essential that we test with one of your layouts but it would be helpful. It’s of course up to you which widgets or components you’d like to use in your site.
Thanks
Andrew
Thanks for the screencast. Chrome seems to work normally for me at the moment; I wonder if the download isn’t being blocked at the browser level. If you have Firefox or another browser installed, that would be a quick way to establish whether it’s a site or a browser issue. The layout would be helpful, my current attempt to recreate the Justify issue isn’t successful
The same problem is manifest in Microsoft Edge unfortunately.
Thanks for checking. I don’t have any reference cases to go on; I’ve never encountered this particular issue. If you wanted to troubleshoot it, it would be worth checking the behavior with all plugins except for Page Builder temporarily deactivated.
I did deactivate each plugin independently. Do you really think that deactivating them all at the same time will help troubleshoot?
Deactivating all plugins except Page Builder is quick and a desirable test because it helps to rule out more complex three way conflicts. It should be a very quick process to see if there is a difference with only Page Builder activated and nothing else.
