Autoptimize & Pingdom
-
Hey Frank,
Hope you are doing ok, still enjoying the use of your plugin every day.
If I do a page speed test I get some results that look like autoptimize is slowing things down; or is it optimizing things already that would be way slower if not being optimized by autoptimize?
https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/cxqbDh/http://www.thehuntingensemble.nlThanks for looking into it for me.

avond joost, long time 🙂
so I ran the pingdom test again (although i _much_ prefer webpagetest.org), once with and once without autoptimize;
* without:
-> https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/cQtyFH/http://www.thehuntingensemble.nl/?ao_noptimize=1
-> 3.54 s
-> pêrformance grade 73
-> faster then 46% of tested websites* with:
-> https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/bVt6KH/http://www.thehuntingensemble.nl
-> 2.4s
-> performance grade 77
-> faster then 63% of tested websitesso maybe you should (re-)enable JS optimization as well? 😉
groetjes,
frankHey Frank,
Thanks for looking into the test for me!
I fully agree with you on that but enabeling the JS optimization breaks the carosel at product level (at the bottom).
I know I can exclude scripts but I have no clue what script I need to exclude. See what happens:
https://monosnap.com/file/RrgstgC3G3TYyjBupo8ubujjROYDNFFijne avond,
Joostthat will probably be
js/jquery/jquery.jsfor sure and thenthemes/atelier/js/functions.min.jsand/ orthemes/atelier/js/sf-scripts.min.js. if not, have a look at your browser console for errors (copy/paste them here).frank
Haha perfect! Works like a charm.
Thanks Frank!
Final question:
Can I use the CDN option (I have MaxCDN)?
I already use it for the website through a plugin called CDN rewrite.Hm. Enable JS breaks my POS (point of sale plugin) for our store, on the backend.
(kassasysteem: https://codecanyon.net/item/woocommerce-point-of-sale-pos/7869665?s_rank=1)Can I use the CDN option (I have MaxCDN)?
you can, (but only) advantage would be that your background-images (as defined in the CSS-file) would be fetched from the CDN as well.
fijn weekend! 🙂
frankEnable JS breaks my POS (point of sale plugin) for our store, on the backend.
ok, some questions;
* is the broken backend on /wp-admin/* or is it on a backend-on-frontend for logged in users?
* what (if any) JS errors do you see in the browser console?Hey Frank!
-it’s broken on the backend /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc_pos_registers-See these screens: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=03097910895107996666 and http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=09175623588213253015
Thanks again for helping out!
Joostok, what you can try;
* open the page with ao_noptimize=1 added to the URL, i.e. /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc_pos_registers&ao_noptimize=1
* OR switch to the upcoming AO 2.2 which has an option to disable AO for logged in users (with edit-page rights).
* OR use this code snippet to disable AO for logged in users (from the FAQ);add_filter('autoptimize_filter_noptimize','pagebuilder_noptimize',10,0); function pagebuilder_noptimize() { if (is_user_logged_in()) { return true; } else { return false; } }Hey Frank!
Thanks for looking into this for me (again).
If added your code in the WP-snippet plugin and got it working on the back-end!I do have some icons/and navigation arrows that are showing as unstyled blocks or something.

–https://monosnap.com/file/7p7MeT6WZuXSWNS0DG76GOVGPq0O6GThis is what my browser console is telling me at the moment:
https://monosnap.com/file/aqZhF6IVmJUiMfZpGY9Nhyve6KzHESI think this is MaxCDN related; learning more every day. So will dive into it to get it fixed.
Thanks!
Joostfonts are indeed by default not loaded from 3rd party domains (which your CDN is), guess there’ll be an option at maxcdn for this somewhere (look for CORS or fonts).
Hey Frank,
Ok strange. They can’t reproduce; I’m still seeing it in my browser (only chrome).
Will fix!Is this also related to the fact that I’m using a CDN? I’ve enabled JS in Autoptimize (with the fix you provided for the POS at backend).

Joostseems that JS optimization does not work @jeeyer
Correct. I forgot to turn it
offON! Stupid.I think this is the best result (because of the theme issues); the once that are showed in the result are the once that need to be excluded for functionallity. https://monosnap.com/file/TY8WXvgwTj3B9BnTQvGJgbOxNTcAMv
Thanks Frank!
